Minecraft - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

This is a joint project I'm doing with my friend Thorlar. We're building the light and dark worlds and all interior from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in Minecraft. We started building on 25th October 2013 and all our build-sessions have been livestreamed on Twitch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I help with the build? I'm really good!
Thanks but no thanks, for several reasons. One being that it's easier to coordinate and plan the project if it's only the two of us. We have pretty much the same idea how it should look and we work well together.

Why are you using green wool as grass? why not a texture pack?
Two reasons. The color matches the game better and it won't creep onto dirt like normal grass will. We're also avoiding using a texture pack as we want it to look as good as possible for vanilla Minecraft players, we might however make one later on designed specifically for this build as an enhancement.

Will this be an adventure map? downloadable? Can we visit it?
It won't be an adventure map but it will (most likely) be downloadable, so if anyone wants to make it an adventure map they may do so. Players on the server may not visit the build area before it's done as to not being in the way, but when we're done it'll be possible to teleport there.

Why are there red blocks everywhere?
Good question! If you bring up the map and enable the 16x16 grid you'll get every 16th block in both directions highlighted in red. Those blocks correspond to the red blocks in Minecraft. We use this to make syncing things up in Minecraft easier (and much faster).
